Finding balance, we savor joy.

Dear Eloise,

With much work comes much rest: it’s an equilibrium of life. This morning, your mother and I found ourselves in the kitchen preparing brunch: eggs, bacon, and gluten-free biscuits—a meal fit for a king. This was our weekend. We wanted to take the time to truly relax, and it felt like we were doing just that. To top off the morning, we put on Monk while eating. Bliss.

Soon after, we quickly readied ourselves and jetted off to the Austin Public Library, located in downtown Austin, for a reading date. As soon as we arrived, Iris and I pinpointed our favorite section of the library—a quiet room in the corner with reading chairs that are simply parfait (French for "perfect"; no, not the dessert). The building's corners were equipped with glass walls where we could gaze out into downtown Austin, where locals strolled and jogged by, immersed in the vibrant rhythm of the community.

We soon headed back to the house, and that evening, we continued our Spider-Man movie marathon and watched Spider-Man 3. As you can tell, Eloise, your father adores superheroes. Growing up, I watched classics on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) with your grandfather every chance I got. Whether it was a gun-slinger movie starring John Wayne or a hilarious comedy with Don Knotts, the aim was to share time and laughter, creating memories that have lasted a lifetime. This is something I hope to share with you soon.

Until then, love you!
