“Reminiscing the year. On the road again.”

Expanded OLPD Entry

Yesterday morning, Iris and I found ourselves immersed in a conversation filled with nostalgia, reminiscing about our past year together and the cherished memories we've created. It's truly been a blessing to witness my wife flourish in her personal endeavors and to see myself grow in various aspects of life. An entire year has passed by in the blink of an eye. Life itself is ever-changing; it can transform in mere seconds, let alone within the span of a year. Yet, I welcome these changes with open arms, embracing each moment as it unfolds. Throughout my life, I've encountered transformative moments that have ultimately changed me for the better. Some occur swiftly, while others unfold gradually, but they all lead to personal growth. Sharing this past year with my wife, Iris, has been an incomparable blessing. I am continuously inspired, challenged, and deeply in love with Iris; her reflection of Christ's love is what captivates me the most.

Road trips with Iris are a breeze. Load up a few pods or playlists, and you’ve got yourself a smooth ride to wherever your heart desires. It’s such a nostalgic throwback. Growing up, I recall that annual thirteen-hour drive from Memphis, Tennessee, to Austin, Texas, for summer and winter vacations to visit my father’s side of the family. Back then, having a television of any size inside your vehicle was something of a marvel for us kids trying to stave off boredom. I personally took on the role of the GeekSquad provider in my family, always eager to rig up anything for the best entertainment possible during those long road trips. During AAU basketball season in middle school and high school, video game systems were all the rage, keeping us occupied during the lengthy journeys to our tri-state, regional, and national tournaments. In the early 2010s, we were less "plugged in" during this ever-evolving digital age, so bonding with teammates over these video games created lasting memories. Since those bygone days, spending time in the car on road trips has remained a relaxing and rewarding experience in any form.

“There's enough DNA in an average person's body to stretch from the sun to Pluto and back 17 times! This fact highlights the incredible length of the DNA when stretched out and its fundamental role in genetics and heredity.” (Source)

A Piece of History

“The Rosetta Stone, discovered in 1799 by French soldiers in Egypt, is a granodiorite stele inscribed with a decree issued in Memphis in 196 BC. It's famous for having the same text in three scripts: Hieroglyphic, Demotic, and Greek, which allowed scholars to finally decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs.” (Source)
