Yesterday marked the magnificent 101st birthday of my great grandmother, Meme, a matriarchal figure in our established family heritage. She's a remarkable woman with memories spanning decades and the spunk of someone half her age. Meme epitomizes style and beauty, her attitude radiating laughter and warmth wherever she goes. It's a blessing to have her in our family, someone so dedicated and passionate about others. To celebrate her special day, Iris and I gifted her a couple of pairs of warm, fuzzy socks and a Bath & Body Works hand soap. Despite being able to afford anything she desires, Meme finds joy in life's simple pleasures, teaching us to slow down and cherish the moments that last a lifetime.
One of my fondest childhood memories is going grocery shopping with my mother. I loved the opportunity to pick out those "cool" items that we could only find by physically browsing the aisles. While that wasn't the sole reason for my enthusiasm, it was definitely a perk. Accompanying my mother on her errands was something I enjoyed, so grocery shopping was just another task in our day. Reflecting on those times, the "tech" section of the store was always on my mind as soon as we walked in. I would eagerly ask my mom and make a beeline for that section, hoping to find something new and exciting for my enjoyment and entertainment. The early 2000s and 2010s were an exciting time for technology, with social media not being as prevalent as it is today. I believe that's why Millennials often feel nostalgic about places like Costco – they remind us of the "good old days" when we could walk around and explore without the constant distraction of social media. Since then, I've continued to enjoy grocery shopping every time I go.
